I’ve done laundry twice this year, and my sheets

I’ve done laundry twice this year, and my sheets smell like sunshine ☀️(in my opinion 😁)How I do laundry living in the van (and would do it if I’d live in a house)Living in a van, it’s surprisingly hard to find a washing machine where you can add your own ocean friendly detergent (twice I’ve done laundry this year as in with a machine). Most laundromats have automatic chemical-filled dosing systems. The better and easier solution: let nature take care of it💫Sun + wind = laundry day opportunity!☀️ The sun naturally disinfects
🌬️ The wind freshens
🌊 The sea exfoliates and washes me 😁No toxins. No machines. No fake fragrances.Our grandmas knew these. UV rays from the sun can kill up to 90% of bacteria in just half and hour / hour. Nature’s bleach, without the toxins.Also just wearing and sleeping in natural fabrics like wool, linen, hemp, and organic cotton, without funky bodycreams or deodorant, and just eating pure, makes things (& me😁) not stinky. Natural fabrics don’t trap odors like synthetics do. They breathe, stay fresher longer, and don’t shed microplastics into the waterways, or your skin! Synthetic clothes like polyester and nylon shed thousands of microplastic fibers every time you wash them. These tiny bits end up in our oceans, our food, and even our blood.What’s important: momentum! ☀️🌬️ it’s not always that the sun & wind is out and you’re in a place where you can take out the sheets.And when the dirt even surpasses my standards 🤣 (I also have a dog 😅) and I do find access to a waschine machine ( or bucket), I make a super simple diy washing powder kind to the sea and me.DIY Wildful Washing Powder 🧺🌿

And it comes with its challenges. 20 years later… Still living wild & free
She thought it was just a winter job.
But something shifted.
A taste of freedom.
Living by weather, not Wi-Fi
that didn’t even exist yet 🤣
Playing in the mountains.
Feeling ALIVE
That one season unhooked her from the system
from routines, roles, the script, and what she was told “success” should look like.
Since then, it’s been a path shaped by instinct, not instruction or institution.
Sunshine and Seasons over schedules.
Curiosity over certainty.
Wildness over what’s expected.

Comfort is overrated
The clothes smell like campfire, the legs are full with dried up mud, the shoes are soaked, the nails have dirt, and the backpack is stacked with fresh wild herbs.My legs are tired and my heart is full.You don’t need to hike epic long distance trails to feel alive, get superpowered and stay healthyJust go to your nearest natural zone, carry only the essentials on your back (and homemade chai mix 🥰) and sleep in wild places.So that’s exactly what we did. We packed our backpacks and set off into the Grazalema Natural Park which is just around the corner from where we are right now.Our lives can get so comfortable.Everything is within hand reach. Or within the a click of a button.
We have comfy beds and a roof over our head. And some of you even fridges and heaters.But sometimes, you just have to close the door behind you…And head into the wild. It refreshes, superpowers, and also makes you humble again of your privileges.Do you sleep sometimes in wild places?

Honour your needs of solo teatime in the wildMy favourite trail tea mix: Chai 🥰It keeps you warm and it’s supergood for your “agni”, as in Ayurveda your digestive fire is called, a big indicator for good health, which can easily get compromised if you can’t find the healthy goods and foods on trail.My favourite recipe:
Anise
cardamom
ginger
pepper
cinnamon
fennel
cloves

She thought it was just a winter job.
But something shifted.
A taste of freedom.
Living by weather, not Wi-Fi
that didn’t even exist yet 🤣
Playing in the mountains.
Feeling ALIVE
That one season unhooked her from the system
from routines, roles, the script, and what she was told “success” should look like.
Since then, it’s been a path shaped by instinct, not instruction or institution.
Sunshine and Seasons over schedules.
Curiosity over certainty.
Wildness over what’s expected.
If you’ve ever felt like there has to be another way.
There is.
And it’s probably not on a spreadsheet.There are so many exiting lives to live with nature

Comfort is overrated
The clothes smell like campfire, the legs are full with dried up mud, the shoes are soaked, the nails have dirt, and the backpack is stacked with fresh wild herbs.My legs are tired and my heart is full.You don’t need to hike epic long distance trails to feel alive, get superpowered and stay healthyJust go to your nearest natural zone, carry only the essentials on your back (and homemade chai mix 🥰) and sleep in wild places.So that’s exactly what we did. We packed our backpacks and set off into the Grazalema Natural Park which is just around the corner from where we are right now.Our lives can get so comfortable.Everything is within hand reach. Or within the a click of a button.
We have comfy beds and a roof over our head. And some of you even fridges and heaters.But sometimes, you just have to close the door behind you…And head into the wild. It refreshes, superpowers, and also makes you humble again of your privileges.Do you sleep sometimes in wild places?

Honour your needs of solo teatime in the wildMy favourite trail tea mix: Chai 🥰It keeps you warm and it’s supergood for your “agni”, as in Ayurveda your digestive fire is called, a big indicator for good health, which can easily get compromised if you can’t find the healthy goods and foods on trail.My favourite recipe:
Anise
cardamom
ginger
pepper
cinnamon
fennel
cloves
chicoryJust mix the whole (ideally organic) spices and you have a delicious trail tea + I bring a little sif (not amongst the super essentials but I love it) And the back pack is still below < 7KG 🥳🎒Curious what else I carry to self sufficiently solo hike & campwith dog?
