Freedive Tips
How to start with Freediving?
My number 1 tip: take an AIDA freedive course! There are numerous freedive bodies and certifications out there. AIDA is non-profit and stay on top of the latest research in order to provide the best and most safe freedive education.
Find a school/instructor on the AIDA website.
Discovering freediving. What’s it all about? (Blogpost)
Come and freedive with me winter 2022/2023 in the Caribbean with Ocean Nomads.

Oli Christen in Freedive Gili
Also highly recommend Deep Dominica!
Freedive reading
Manual of Freediving – Still the best book out there explaining all the ins and outs about freediving. Written by the superhuman Umberto Pelizzari. As far as I know, there are only hardcopies available.
Deep A book about freediving, renegade Science and What the Ocean Tells Us About Ourselves.
Breatheology – by Stig Aval Steverinsen. We can live weeks without food, days without water, but only minutes without oxygen. Optimize you breathing and optimize your life! Reading and applying techniques in this book are one of the best investments you can make!
Blue Mind – By Wallace. J. Nichols. Amazing read about The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, In, On, or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, and Better at What You Do.
